MOST WORSHIPFUL GRAND MASTER 2025 - 2026
M.W. Bro. Richard Rey Galapon
Rey’s journey of perseverance and Masonic service reflects his unwavering commitment to excellence. As Grand Master of Manitoba, he is honored and humbled to dedicate himself to the principles and community of Freemasonry.
Most Worshipful Brother Rey Galapon came to Canada in June 2005. Not long after he arrived, he visited the Grand Lodge, inquiring as to how to become a Freemason. Rey had to wait one year as he did not meet the MB residency requirement. In 2007, he was initiated, passed and raised in Capitol Lodge #136. He immediately participated in degree work and then took on the office of Junior Steward.
In 2013 MW Rey was installed as the Worshipful Master of Capitol Lodge No 136. He has always believed in the importance of conducting lodge meetings and performing degree works proficiently, a trait he continuously promotes to all members. He also believes that there is no substitute for proper and early preparation, constantly encouraging members to come to meetings well prepared.
MWB Galapon’s journey to the Grand East started with his election in 2018 as District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th Masonic District. Following his term as DDGM, MW Bro Rey was elected to the Board of General Purposes. He was acclaimed as Junior Grand Warden in 2022, Senior Grand Warden in 2023 and as Deputy Grand Master in 2024. He is an active and proud member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Manitoba College SRICF, Royal Arch Masons and Cryptic Rite.
MWB Galapon is a physiotherapist by profession. He has been a practicing physiotherapist for 26 years and is licensed in the Philippines, the State of New York and Canada. He is the Clinical Service Lead Physiotherapist at Concordia Hospital Rehabilitation Services.
MW Bro Rey is married to Lady Prima, who is also a physiotherapist, a union of some 20 years! They are blessed with a son and two daughters. All are members of the International Order of DeMolay and International Order of Job’s Daughters, accordingly.
As the Grand Master, MWB Galapon aims to promote ‘Achieving Harmony in Diversity.’ He hopes that with the collective efforts of the membership we will be able to achieve this goal and have the Grand Lodge of Manitoba continue as a beacon of friendship and brotherly love for generations to come.
